During NAR's (National Association of Realtors) recent Environmental Summit, leaders in Real Estate discussed the changing environment and what that means for Real Estate.
NAR President Steven Brown states, 'Dramatic changes in our environment will have an impact on how and where people want to live, which will inevitably transform local real estate markets.'
According to NAR research consumers are already showing a preference for walkable communities and energy efficient homes. There is currently a considerable market for green building and it proves to be growing.
Scientists speculate that extreme weather and natural disasters such as the wildfires in Arizona and droughts in the Southwest will continue to occur with greater frequency. As the public becomes more aware of our environment NAR concludes that consumers will see the benefits to green building.
NAR's first Environmental Summit has only begun the discussion of how our environment is going to affect Real Estate.
